Start Early conducted a pilot for the Reflectable® SEL tool to better understand user experience and outcomes. The pilot focused on educator engagement, impact on self-efficacy, and overall effectiveness.
Start Early conducted a Reflectable® Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Pilot during the 2023-24 school year to gain a better understanding of the mobile tool’s user experience and outcomes. Specifically, the pilot looked at:
Reflectable was an easy way to increase my toolkit for promoting social emotional learning and preventing challenging behaviors, and a simple way to reflect and take charge of my growth as a teacher.

Nearly half of participants who tried Reflectable progressed beyond initial exploration to become ‘Committed Users’ – engaging in 4-6 reflections via the app, and 75% of them became ‘Power Users’ – engaging in 7+ reflections! These results show Reflectable offers substantial and sustained value to educators who incorporate it into their daily practice.
Pilot data showed that educators experience a meaningful learning cycle with Reflectable, progressing through critical self-assessment and moving into an evidence-based boost in confidence in a 12-week period.
Although educators reported increased self-efficacy across a variety of topics, they experienced particularly high impact in Schedules & Routines and Self Care.
Pilot participants strongly endorsed Reflectable’s effectiveness. Almost half reported that they most valued the tool for helping them with behavioral support and addressing specific classroom situations.
