Katie Fisher is a Manager on the Start Early Consulting Team. Katie draws on her experience in implementing early childhood and education policy to conduct policy research and analysis and consult with systems leaders and advocates. She has worked with advocates and leaders in Idaho, Maine, Mississippi, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington. Katie began her career as a fourth-grade bilingual teacher at a public school in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. She then worked for Chicago Public Schools’ Office of Early Childhood Education, supporting the implementation of new districtwide preschool program standards. Katie also has subject matter expertise in supporting dual language learners, IDEA Part C and Part B 619, and cross-sector early childhood systems improvement. Katie holds a B.A. and master’s degree in public policy from the University of Virginia as well as a master’s degree in teaching from Dominican University. Katie currently lives in Austin, Texas.
