Sandra Adan CD(DONA) has been a Bilingual Doula for two years with Start Early’s directly operated program Healthy Parents & Babies. Her role as a Doula/Home Visitor at Healthy Parents & Babies allows her to assist the participants in the Doula program find their voice, obtain evidence-based information, feel emotionally and physically supported during their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. She really enjoys helping her at-risk participants get connected to community-based resources to find the additional support they may need. Her prior experience over the last decade includes early childhood classrooms, public school classrooms, and Family Resource Specialist with Illinois Action for Children. Sandra obtained her Bachelors in Child Development from NIU, has a Birth Doula certification through DONA International, and holds a certificate as a Lactation Specialist.
