Technical Assistant and Training Specialist, Start Early Washington

Before joining Start Early Washington, Alex supported tribal communities (6 tribes in south Puget Sound) as a para-educator at Chief Leschi Tribal School, case aide and intake specialist for Tribal TANF/WFD, and a home visitor and supervisor for the Tribal Home Visiting Program. Her expertise includes being a certified facilitator of Positive Indian Parenting and a WIC-certified lactation peer counselor.

Alex is an Alaskan Native, an enrolled member of Tlingit and Haida, and a devoted mother of two indigenous boys (6 and 4 years old), wife to her high school sweetheart, mother, sister and auntie. Alex and her family currently live, work, play and benefit from the lands of the Nisqually people. The Nisqually people have resided on these lands since time immemorial. She is grateful for, acknowledges and honors the Nisqually people and their sovereign nation.
