Our Home Visiting History
For more than 40 years, Start Early has worked alongside families through evidence-based home visiting programs that support healthy child development, strengthen parent-child relationships and connect families to critical community resources. Through direct services in Chicago and partnerships across Illinois and Washington state, Start Early supports pregnant people, parents and young children from birth to age 3 with coaching, developmental guidance and individualized support tailored to each family’s needs. Start Early also leads a statewide Home Visiting & Doula Network in Illinois, supporting 30 community-based programs using proven home visiting models.
Workforce Initiatives
In addition to serving families directly, Start Early invests in the home visiting workforce through professional development, technical assistance, training and national resources designed to expand access to high-quality, equitable home visiting services nationwide. Through its policy and advocacy work, Start Early champions strong federal investments in home visiting programs funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), including the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program, to help more families access the support they need during the earliest years of a child’s life.
